Cadet Staff Positions

The Civil Air Patrol is seeking qualified candidates for various Cadet Staff Positions. The Cadet Staff is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the squadron. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, be able to work in a team environment, and have a passion for developing the next generation of leaders.

 

Cadet Executive Staff:

  • Cadet Deputy Commander for Operations: This position is perfect for someone who loves leading and mentoring others. As the Cadet Deputy Commander for Operations, you will be responsible for managing, supervising, and mentoring line staff. You will also develop and maintain training curriculum for the development of line staff, advise the Cadet Commander, and attend weekly staff meetings. This is a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills and make a real impact on the squadron.

  • Cadet Deputy Commander for Support: If you're someone who enjoys working with others and has a passion for developing the next generation of leaders, then this position is for you. As the Cadet Deputy Commander for Support, you will be responsible for managing, supervising, and mentoring support staff. You will also develop and maintain training curriculum for the development of support staff, advise the Cadet Commander, and attend weekly staff meetings. This is a great opportunity to work in a team environment and make a real difference in the squadron.

  • Cadet First Sergeant: Are you a natural leader who enjoys leading and mentoring others? Then the position of Cadet First Sergeant is perfect for you. As the Cadet First Sergeant, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring the non-commissioned officers of the squadron. You will also oversee the execution of flight training, lead monthly squadron physical training, ensure the schedule is maintained, and ensure discipline within the squadron. Cadet Line Staff:

  • Flight Sergeant: If you're someone who enjoys leading and motivating others, then the position of Flight Sergeant is perfect for you. As the Flight Sergeant, you will be responsible for leading the Flight in Drill & Ceremonies, instructing Cadets in Basic Subjects, and motivating and disciplining the Flight. This is a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills and make a real impact on the squadron.

  • Flight Commander: Are you someone who enjoys setting goals and leading others to achieve them? Then the position of Flight Commander is perfect for you. As the Flight Commander, you will be responsible for mentoring the Flight Sergeant and Element Leaders, setting goals for the Flight, leading the Flight in Drill & Ceremonies, and motivating and disciplining the Flight. Cadet Support Staff:

As the Support Flight Commander, you will be responsible for leading the flight in drill and ceremonies, setting goals for the Flight, and motivating and disciplining the flight. As the Cadet Administration NCO, you will be responsible for keeping track of cadet promotions for awards meetings, updating the flight assignments roster, and creating the OOTD under the direction of the Cadet Commander. The role involves working with senior member PAO and keeping the website and social media updated. As the Cadet IT NCO, you will be responsible for managing the squadron website, keeping the calendar and other publications up to date, and collaborating with PA to publish announcements on the website.   • Recruiting NCO: If you're someone who enjoys meeting new people and has a passion for recruiting, then the position of Recruiting NCO is perfect for you. As the Recruiting NCO, you will be responsible for introducing and guiding prospective cadets to the cadet program, keeping track of prospective cadet attendance, and informing prospective cadets about Tango Flight. This is a great opportunity to develop your communication skills and make a real impact on the squadron.

  • Historian NCO: Are you someone who enjoys keeping track of events and taking photos? Then the position of Historian NCO is perfect for you. As the Historian NCO, you will be responsible for keeping track of promotions awards, activities attended, and weekly classes to file the end of month and year summaries. The role involves working with PA NCO to maintain a photo archive. This is a great opportunity to develop your photography skills and make a real impact on the squadron.

  • Safety NCO: If you're someone who is passionate about safety and enjoys teaching others, then the position of Safety NCO is perfect for you. As the Safety NCO, you will be responsible for sending out weekly safety emails to the squadron, ensuring safety equipment is properly used, and working with senior member Safety Officer.   • Logistics NCO: Are you someone who enjoys keeping things organized and running smoothly? Then the position of Logistics NCO is perfect for you. As the Logistics NCO, you will be responsible for assisting in the distribution of uniform items to cadets, maintaining the shed and squadron inventory (uniforms, rank insignia, ribbons, etc.), working with senior member Logistics Officer, setting up the clubhouse and relevant classrooms, and ensuring proper clean-up of the clubhouse.     Qualifications:

  • Must be a Civil Air Patrol Cadet in good standing.

  • Must have completed the Cadet Leadership Course.

  • Must have completed the appropriate specialty track for the position.

  • Must have demonstrated leadership ability.

  • Must have a strong desire to develop the next generation of leaders.

  • Must be C/SrA or be promoted to C/SrA when the term start.

     Each staff position is a six-month term.
